Planning – Planning Application Documents

• The application has been received into the service

The application has been checked to make sure there is the right information for the officer to start to make an assessment, including:

• The application form has been completed correctly
• Required supporting documents are present and correct
• Site Location plan is present
• Appropriate fee is paid
• Applicant (or their agent) is contacted to acknowledge the application has been accepted

• During a minimum 21-day period, comments on the application are invited from the public and technical consultees.
• For the public comment expiry date, please check the Important Dates tab for the Comments To Be Submitted By date 
• The application is publicised in different ways depending on what it is for and these details can be found in the Council's Statement of Community Involvement

• The Planning Officer assesses the application against national and local policies and other planning material considerations and may undertake a site visit to the application site
• The Officer reviews all comments from the public, groups and technical consultees but can only consider the comments where material planning matters have been raised
• The Officer takes all the above into consideration, writes a report and makes a recommendation to a senior planning officer or to a Committee (Plans Panel) as to whether planning permission should be given or not

• The decision is made and the formal notice is issued informing the applicant (or their agent) of the outcome of the application
• The decision is published online on Public Access
